Tom Johnston
Tom Johnston is a mediator and lawyer who has been with the firm for 30 years. He is one of the most well known lawyers in the Okanagan because he has been involved in so many significant and complex cases. Tom prides himself on being a lawyer who is not only prepared to fight for his clients in court, but who is also a skilled negotiator. Tom has been a mediator for over 20 years and he is often hired by other lawyers to assist them with matters involving Litigation, Wills & Estates and Trusts, amongst others. Tom has also had a number of law students, including his current associate, Cory Goodrich. Tom has volunteered hundreds of hours to assist young lawyers with difficult problems. Tom is also actively involved in his community and served 15 years in local elected positions, including as Mayor of the District of Summerland from 2002 - 2005.

Cory Goodrich
Cory Goodrich began working with us as an articling student in 2007 after he graduated from law school at the University of British Columbia. He officially joined the firm as an associate in September 2008. Cory is originally from Vernon and loves the Okanagan for all it brings, including snowboarding the icy slopes in the winter and riding the cool waves in the summer. He primarily practices in the areas of wills & estates, real estate, family law, personal injury and commercial litigation. Cory received his first degree in mathematics and later became an accredited high school teacher. He received the Harper Grey Prize in Insurance Law for the highest grade in his law school insurance course and a national scholarship from the Natural Sciences & Engineering Research Council to pursue graduate studies in mathematics. Cory has always been active in the community and is a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Penticton and District Bar Association. Cory is a hard working, focused young man who continues to work with our team to meet the needs of all our business and individual clients. Leneigh Bosdet
Leneigh was raised in Summerland and has finally returned to the community she loves. She joined the firm in 2010.
Leneigh graduated from UBC Law School and completed her articles with a boutique commercial litigation Vancouver firm. Her many achievements include: being selected to complete an internship at the Provincial Court in Vancouver to conduct legal research for a number of Judges; acting as a team member on the UBC Wilson Moot Team that won first place overall in a competition involving law schools from coast-to-coast; winning the Pozer Award for outstanding contribution by a first year student to the Law School Legal Advice Program; winning the David Roberts Prize in Legal Writing for excellence in legal writing; and receiving the Law Foundation Scholarship for academic excellence in law school.
Leneigh also has solid work experience, having worked at the large Kelowna law firm Pushor Mitchell as a summer student as well as serving as a Managing Clinician for the Law School Legal Advice Program in Vancouver. She will be conducting a general practice at the firm of Johnston, Johnson and Company and feel free to contact her with your legal questions.
Leneigh's many other interests include being a Mom, distance running, hiking, and rock climbing, to name a few. Leneigh looks forward to re-establishing contact with her many friends and acquaintances and to serving the people of the area as one of Johnston Goodrich Layers "Lawyers for Life".
Gil Johnson
Gil retired from full-time practice at the beginning of 2006.
In the Okanagan, few lawyers have the experience and knowledge and deliver the results like Gil Johnson. Gil has a resume second to none. He has a Master of Laws Degree from the London School of Economics and 40 years of experience in various areas of law. He began his legal career in 1966 in Davidson, Saskatchewan. He has served in a number of important positions including: Legal Advisor to the Federal Cabinet in Ottawa; chairman of the Saskatchewan Securities Commission; President of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary, Alberta; Executive Director of the Advanced Education Council of British Columbia in Vancouver; Regional Director of the Canada Employment and Immigration Commission; Deputy Minister of Advanced Education and Manpower in Saskatchewan.
